Service Description
Start your Sunday with a little sparkle and sass. Burlesque 101 is a beginner-friendly, immersive workshop where you’ll stretch, shimmy, and shine. No dance experience needed. $60 includes: • 2-hour workshop • A pair of gloves to keep • A mimosa • A light snack The workshop begins with a brief history of burlesque, followed by a warm-up and stretch. You’ll learn the essential building blocks of burlesque, from classic walks and bumps to the iconic glove peel, and finish with a playful routine you can take home. Your guide is Ivy La Fleur, a Calgary-based burlesque artist known for her sensual musicality and playful stage presence. Catch her live at Kindred Ground the night before for a taste of her magic. Open to all. Queer, allied, and fabulous. What to wear: Wear whatever makes you feel confident and comfortable to move in. Socks, barefoot, or dance heels are welcome (no outdoor shoes). Gloves are provided. Bring water.

All event, workshop, and special program bookings are final sale. Due to limited capacity and advance planning, we’re unable to offer refunds or cancellations. Tickets are welcome to be transferred to another person if you’re unable to attend. Late arrivals may not be admitted once an event has begun. Some events may have age or participation requirements — please review individual event details before booking. By booking, participants acknowledge responsibility for their own health and wellbeing during the event. Kindred Ground reserves the right to refuse entry or remove participants if behaviour is disruptive or unsafe. If Kindred Ground needs to cancel or reschedule an event, participants will be offered the option of a refund or credit.
